"My father looks and feels better than he has in many years."

I would like to touch base with you regarding my father’s progress. As you may or may not be aware, he spent much of last year in the hospital from about 11/97 to 4/98. He has a history of combined rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus. He has been on Prednisone for many years, as well as recently immune suppressive drugs. Last year due to the immune suppression, he developed a severe infection and spent nearly four months in the hospital with approximately six weeks in intensive care and just less than three months in a nursing home for rehab. He was admitted to the hospital with severe infection and wound up going into respiratory and kidney failure, as well as severe homological complications. Frankly, we did not think he would make it. Through some good doctoring and the will of God, he pulled through, however his body was severely debilitated. Suring the hospitalization, he also had a toe amputated due to gangrene. When my father left the nursing home in April, he was unable to walk on his own. His mental status was severely impaired. The physical therapist at the nursing home thought that if he walked with a walker that would be the best he can do.

Since you have been working with him, we have seen a miraculous improvement in his physical condition. He is no longer using a cane or a walker to walk and in fact his marked limp is almost gone at this point. His performance status, as well as endurance, also has markedly improved. In addition, he is thinking clearly and is psychologically much more healthy than he was before he started the program with you. The amount of improvement that he has made is nothing short of miraculous in this short time. I would like to thank you for all your efforts. In addition, I don’t feel he would have done better with a full time physical therapist. He looks better and feels better than he has in many years. Thank you very much for your help.

I have worked out and exercised all my life. I started training 4 or 5 years ago at South Mountain Fitness Center. When it closed, I joined NYSC, which was around the time that the Livingston Club opened.

My life to the extent that it can be, is organized around my workouts. I have always been extremely disciplined about exercising, but personal training has changed the way that I workout and the way that my body looks. My workouts used to consist primarily of long distance running, sit ups and pushups. After many years of exercising that way, I was not seeing the results that I wanted to see. I did not immediately begin lifting weights. I started by adding classes – kickboxing, sculpting, step and more recently boot camp to my routine. To continue to add variety to my work outs, I also started weight training.

I started training with Zeke this summer. Up until that point, I trained on my own and never worked with a trainer. I feel so much more fit now that I've been working out with Zeke.
